Tropospheric influence on dropped calls in mobile networks

چکیده

It is common knowledge that tropospheric variables affect signals, thereby distorting coverage. Since the major factor affecting dropped calls coverage and penetration depth of signal strength transmitted by a wireless system determines its coverage, therefore, there tendency for to calls. This research investigates effects relative humidity, wind speed, rainfall temperature on four mobile networks (MTN, Airtel, Globacom 9mobile) in Cross River State, Nigeria. Six years data weather collected from Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), State six Drop Call Rate (DCR) obtained telecommunications regulatory body, Communication Commission (NCC), was used this study, both spanning January 2015 December 2020. From data, graphs were plotted and, each case, DCR dependent while independent variables. Also, regression models forecast network, provided variable at given period known. Finally, correlated give picture how related networks. For MTN 9mobile networks, low positive correlation highly speed lowly negative temperature. Airtel moderately exists between humidity/temperature relationship existed rainfall. However, observed speed. humidity respectively temperature/wind against DCR. result will be very useful meteorologist, network planners operators.

Modeling the Effect of Dropped Calls on Cell Traffic in Established 3G-Based Cellular Networks

One most important parameter for assessing the quality of service (QoS) in a network is the probability of dropped calls, which has so far not been deeply studied within the context of established cellular networks. This paper therefore studies the effect of call dropping on cell traffic parameters. First, it derives an analytical model for multiple cells and discusses how the various cell para...

Accuracy Improvement of Tropospheric Delay Interpolation in RTK Networks

The effect of troposphere on the signals emitted from global navigation satellite system (GNSS) satellites, appears as an extra delay in the measurement of the signal traveling from the satellite to receiver. This delay depends on the temperature, pressure, humidity as well as the transmitter and receiver antennas location. In GNSS positioning, tropospheric delay effects on accuracy of differen...

The influence of tropospheric biennial oscillation on mid‐tropospheric CO2

[1] Mid‐tropospheric CO2 retrieved from the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS) was used to investigate CO2 interannual variability over the Indo‐Pacific region. A signal with periodicity around two years was found for the AIRS mid‐tropospheric CO2 for the first time, which is related to the Tropospheric Biennial Oscillation (TBO) associated with the strength of the monsoon. During a strong (we...

Influence of Droughts on Mid-Tropospheric CO2

Using CO2 data from the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder (AIRS), it is found for the first time that the mid-tropospheric CO2 concentration is ~1 part per million by volume higher during dry years than wet years over the southwestern USA from June to September. The mid-tropospheric CO2 differences between dry and wet years are related to circulation and CO2 surface fluxes. During drought conditions...

Anonymous Mobile Conference Calls

This paper describes an architecture and protocol for making anonymous mobile conference calls. A number of examples exist where multiple users may wish to communicate in an anonymous manner, such as anonymous virtual support groups (e.g Alcoholics Anonymous). Anonymous group identification schemes coupled with the novel idea of Virtual Numbers, allows for identification to a conference call fa...
